5 Necessary Steps You Should Take When You Have A Desire To Be A Part Of God's Family
by Wes Allen

I want every person to become a part of God's family. I don't want anyone to be left behind. You may have heard it said that the time is getting short. Jesus said no one knows the day or the hour when He will return but the Father only. However, He did speak to us about looking at the "signs of the times." Judging by those signs, I think we should be preparing immediately. Please come to Jesus now. What could be a reason good enough for delaying any longer? This artlcle not only gives you the five steps for entrance into God's family, but also shows you what each step involves, shows you how to take that step. Please don't let anyone abbreviate the steps for you. Why take a chance when the steps are so simple? There is no one church that makes it while all the rest are left behind. God's church, His family, is bigger than any one religious body. It is made up of all the believers in the world. There will be a mighty throng, a great multitude of people from every tribe and nation standing before the throne of God. Will you be a part of that great multitude? I can show you the way to be included in that number. I can give you a Certificate to Heaven. In this artlcle I give you the five steps to God's family from an article found at this link www.FaithBuildingTestimonies.com/CertificatetoHeaven.pdf but I want you to go to this link, read the article, and contact me. I will help you to be sure that you are a part of that "mighty throng."

1. Believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God

Being a part of God's family, being "saved, " requires that you believe in His son who provided the way of salvation for us. You can't very well be given a gift that will prove to be worth anything to you if you don't believe that the giver exists. This is the "rock" upon which God's church is built. Jesus is the Word of God we are told in John chapter one. If you don't believe that the Bible has any meaning for our lives today, you can't very well believe in Jesus, who is the Word, who is our Bible. To obtain this belief read the book of John or talk to other Christians.

2. Repent of your sins

If your desire is to be a part of God's family, you must turn away from your old life. Your house will be divided if you adhere to more than one way of life. To repent of your sins simply means to turn away from your travels in that direction, do an about-face, and walk toward God or with Him. Putting it bluntly, the two extremes are: Don't walk with Satan anymore; walk with Jesus.

3. Confess before people, your belief in Jesus Christ

Profess might be a more understandable word to some. This is only making a public declaration that you indeed do believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God. Normally that is done before people in a prearranged group setting. It can be done anywhere that the majority of the group are also believers. It is usually done seconds before your baptism into God's family.

4. Be baptized (immersed in water) for the remission of your sins and to receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit

Baptized, by definition, means immersed in water. If you choose some other way to do it that you like better, it won't have the same effect. Baptism is the entrance into God's family. It is the symbolic "dying with Christ" to the old way of life. When you are completely under water, you stop breathing. Even before going under water, you hold your breath. You are symbolically dead to the breath of life. Going under the water, you are buried with Him. And when you come up out of the water, you are resurrected, you are a new creature. The old life is dead and gone. Thus you have been united with Him in the likeness of his death.

The indwelling of the Holy Spirit that you receive at that moment is like a guard on your conscience. The Holy Spirit is governing your conscience. It's like the "check engine" light on the dash of your car. When something is wrong that light comes on. When it is fixed the light goes off. In the same way, when something is wrong in your life you feel it in your conscience. Your check engine light comes on.

The Holy Spirit is also a guide and a comforter to you. He will guide you to do things by putting it into your heart and mind to do it. He also guides or regulates what you do through the feelings in your conscience. And He comforts your feelings when you're having trouble getting that darn light to turn off.

5. Totally surrender yourself to Christ and follow His teachings the rest of your life

You believed that Jesus is God's son and thus has a right to be the Lord of your life. You repented by turning away from the old life. Your baptism was an act of surrender. The Holy Spirit is guiding your conscience. Now where do you go from there? Surrender is a daily act. It's difficult, but not impossible to give up everything all at once. And we are continually finding ourselves taking things into our own control. When you surrender, you must follow the one to whom you surrendered.

The Word of God is a guide to our lives. The "commandments" are there to show us what a Christian life looks like, much like rules for a person on probation. After that life is achieved, the written commandments are no longer needed. You know what to do and what not to do. Keeping commandments is not going to get you any deeper into God's family or any closer to Heaven. We follow the teachings of Christ because we are dead and He is the one living in us. We continually point ourselves in the proper direction as the Spirit guides.

After following these steps you will be a part of God's family. It doesn't matter what the name of your church is. It only matters that you come to Jesus now, become a part of God's family now. It doesn't matter what is happening in your life now or what "bad" things have become a part of your character. God is in charge of making changes in your life through the indwelling of His Spirit and the guidance He gives. It is essential to become a part of a church where you can grow and bloom in the Christian life. You become like those you hang around. You become like what you think about. As changes are made in your life for the better, you will find that you have more happiness, contentment, fulfillment, and joy and peace. Is that not what we strive after? Is that not the direction we are headed with whatever life we have chosen? Come to God's family now, I want to meet you. MyListeningHeart@aol.com

My name is Wes Allen. I have been a Christian for 29 years. I am not a preacher. I have nothing to gain from anyone coming to God's family. And I don't want anything from anyone. I just want the satisfaction of knowing that another human being made it. I am called MemoryManWes@aol.com because I memorize long documents of history and scripture and do dramatic presentations in costume. Twice a year I read the Bible completely through in the short span of 40 days. I will begin my 14th time through the Bible on March 1st of 2009. I, Andrea, recommend Morris Holley's "Certificate to Heaven." Morris recently passed away at the age of 80. In his passing he left this useful tool to show others the way to Heaven. Andrea is a friend of mine, and I am promoting Morris Holley's article. We both want to give it to you free of charge.
